ABOUT US

Turner Oriental Carpets help find carpets for private clients for their homes, designers looking for specific carpets for projects and developers looking to furnish properties for sale. We also advise owners on carpets they already have and on the cleaning and restoration of damaged or worn carpets.

We also work in conjunction with art advisory companies to help clients understand what they have in their collection which will enable them to decide if they would like to increase or reduce the number of pieces they inherited or purchased for past decorative schemes.

Arabella Turner has spent many years working in the art world. In 1990 she joined the Islamic and Carpet Department at Christie's, King Street.

She became a specialist in the department where she worked in the team which offered for sale the world-renowned Bernheimer Collection in 1996 amongst other notable collections.

In 1997, Arabella went to work in Los Angeles for Mansour Carpets, who are one of the world's largest international antique carpet dealers. She was head of sales there, selling carpets to a wide variety of clients in California.

In 2001 Arabella set up the Los Angeles gallery of Christopher Farr, a leader in contemporary carpet design. The carpets sold in the gallery were designed by Christopher Farr and other contemporary artists with whom the company collaborated.

Arabella subsequently returned to London to set up her own company. She relocated to West Dean near Salisbury from London in 2012 and since then has been based in the South of England but has a client base in London and elsewhere in the country.
